Topiary

It was a beautiful afternoon so we went over to Ascott house and garden in Buckinghamshire. This topiary entrance to a long, sheltered herbaceous border looks a little brutalist but I rather like it. Downsizing the image for the thumbnail appears to have introduced artifacts in the surface of the hedges, which look as if their leaves are variegated, but the main image is ok.

We're three months into the year and I still have 99 extras, so here are a couple: a wisteria (I think) twining up a pillar, and a view of some the thousands of daffodils which cover the grounds at Ascott in spring. In about a month's time there will be a magnificent display of tulips to go back for too.
