The Scafell range from Lingmell

Seriously this is worth looking large on black to get an idea of the scale!

As today was forecast as the best day of the week, we had planned a serious walk. Left home early and parked at Wasdale. Walked along the valley to the corridor route, up over Great end, over Scafell Pike and onto Lingmell before descending back to Wasdale - needed spikes at times as the snow of last night was deep in parts and much of the route was icy. Surprised at how many people were trying to walk up Scafell Pike in totally inappropriate footwear. Our route took us past the tarn on the left of the picture and over all the fells in this shot!

Fab day, 11 miles and over 3500 feet of climbing, the beer at the end of the walk never tasted so good.
