April 8th 1939

Mum and Dads wedding day. Although they are not here any more I still remember their anniversary, They never did anything special on that day but they were the most loving couple. On their 50th anniversary we took them out for a meal up to Farndale, they didn't know we had booked it and that the boys would be there, they thought we were planning a family meal at home, and just taking them for a drive out, they were so surprised when we walked in the bar and saw them, I remember my dad saying "what are you doing here" so we said we had booked a meal and mum said we had better pull up another table as there wouldn't be room for us all round the one we were sat at. She was surprised when we took her into the restaurant. It was a lovely evening.  Ah memories are priceless aren't they.

By the way that was a lovely Fox Fur she has round her shoulder, no one thought anything about them in those days, they were very fashionable, now we would be appalled at the mere thought.
