Spring Indoors

There is a Swedish tradition of taking birch twigs indoors a little before Easter. By Easter the buds are becoming leaves and the twigs can be decorated with coloured feathers.
So much for the traditions, now our version...
Well, the birch trees were mostly out of reach in the deep snow so we've got alder too, the feathers have become origami cranes, the buds only turned green a couple of days ago so our Easter twigs have become spring twigs instead.
But it all looks very lovely and it helps convince us spring WILL arrive and the snow WILL melt.
Today was glorious outside and the heat combined with the hard work of digging snow in the warm sun meant bare legs came out for the first time this year. Drink was imbibed. For more information check out HarlingDarling's blip.
