Oystercatcher

Along the Loons road to Marwick and over the cliff path to Birsay Palace. A total of 13 brown hares but always hard to get close enough for a decent photo. snipe were drumming at the RSPB reserve and little grebes nest-building. Over 300 golden plover and 250+ pinkfeet  on the Marwick fields and2 glaucous gulls still on the whale carcase. My first wheatears of the year with 4 males between Marwick and the palace. A redwing and peregrine on the cliffs. A pair of shelduck at nest on Birsay links.
