Dead heading

I am a big believer in dead heading. I have had it from two very good sources (Ms GW and The Archers) that it's the best (only?) way to prolong blooms. Ms GW pointed out this morning, that the rose still has buds on it, seemingly unaffected by the freezing conditions or the end of British Summer Time.

Now as long as the first big frost holds off a bit...
