Japan Bowl

That two-day competition for high schoolers who study Japanese has been running annually for 26 straight years and draws teams of 2 or 3 from all over the US -- including Guam -- and one team from Mexico. It is a part of the many events associated with D.C.'s Cherry Blossoms festivities.

The competition is split into four levels and judges general knowledge about Japan as well as spoken and written comprehension. Today was the opening of the event and the beginning round of competition. Seven hours on my feet and a couple of hours of editing. I'm done for!

Glad you liked yesterday's blip and apologies for not returning comments: I'm exhausted...
