American Avocets - Sleeping

Down to the San Francisco Bay Lands, near Palo Alto. I was there to help with our Wetlands Discovery Program. We had 60 4th grade students in groups of 10, out identifying different birds, talking about the importance of a clean bay, food chains, effects of climate change, just having a good time/learning experience. 

The extra is one that I caught while everyone was looking out past the bridge.
