Due to Hurricane Sandy many delegates have not made it to Baltimore for the conference that I am attending. So, as someone who does not like to think of food going to waste, I wondered whether they would appreciate an "extra" guest to help eat up the surplus portions at the first-timers' brunch.

I am sorry to report that the answer was "No".
