Long time since....

... I was in the Pyrenees.  Scilla lilio-hyacinthus, the Pyrenean Squill grows in woodand and can carpet the forest floor rather as bluebells do here.  It might be accused of having not a lot of flower for the size of the leaves but it's a welcome face in my shady border at this time of year.  Dead easy to grow, increases slowly but does not spread rapidly like some of it's relatives.

Another labour day - although we did have a long lie in first.  An hour on the allotment yielded a pile of thistle roots and a row of peas planted.  The high gutter on the neighbours side is now cleared, the brown bin full again and I've made a start on the rather derelict front garden .... plenty more hours needed there.  Unglamorous stuff but it all needs doing.
