No Frame Without Grain

Uncle And Aunt

We visited my uncle and aunt who now live in Rode, Somerset to be in between their daughter who lives in Norton St Philip ( a couple of miles away) and son who lives in Exmouth (Devon). Most of their working life was spent in the Reading area of Berkshire before they moved to Wiltshire and now Somerset.

John is my mum's brother and is 86 this year. He's a retired headmaster (Slough) and was an ardent runner. We did a couple of half marathons together but he hasn't been able to run for quite a few years as he's almost blind now and has had a couple of falls (when running) which has left him needing to use a walking stick. He's very sociable with a super sense of humour. The blipfoto shows him using his reading machine supplied by The Ex Servicemans Blind Association (he's was in the Army).

The extra is of my aunty, Teressa or Terri as we all call her. She's about 17 years younger but a few years ago was diagnosed with Parkinsons. She still drives a car and is managing okay at the moment with this debilitating disease.

Both photo's taken in monochrome.
