As day ends.....

......a sunset so vibrant fills the sky and touches the sea as fishing boats bob up and down with the tide, it's peaceful as waves lap the shore.

It's been an energetic kind of day. Enjoyed a bush walk in Trotters Gorge with sunlight flickering as clouds passed by, bellbirds, tui's and fantails could be heard. We discovered some caves which towered over us, it was cold, damp and musky but no fungi.

Then a break with some family research for hubby at Waikouaiti museum which threw up more questions than answers, all in time.

Late afternoon we found ourselves enjoying a coastal walk at Tavora Reserve. It was stunning, golden sands, extensive plantings on the dunes, rocks, leather-like seaweed, beautiful and refreshing. Tavora Reserve is owned by DOC and is home to NZ Fur Seals and Yellow-eyed Penguins, although we saw neither today, too early for the penguins and the seals were lazing somewhere else.

Good day for being 'out and about'
