Welcome To Cape Town

We arrived in Cape Town, South Africa, somewhat bleary eyed from our overnight flight, just before midday. We spent the afternoon exploring the V&A waterfront, which is just a stone's throw from the hotel, and were immediately struck by the vibrancy of the place and the friendliness of the welcome we received wherever we went.

In particular, local musical groups were performing on each of the many designated busker spots, with a wide range of traditional and modern music on display. This chap was one of a group who specialised in traditional drum music - and costume.

In the evening we enjoyed a meal of traditional dishes on the waterfront and were entertained by a joyous 12 piece vocal harmony group, who sang and dance unaccompanied, bringing a smile to the faces of all who listened.

In extras is the view across the waterfront to Table Mountain.
