Wee Weevils

Got away with it yesterday so I've two more weevils for your delectation. :)

I was hoping for orange tip butterflies but it was largely dull and cool. The figwort leaves are only just starting to appear but I found some minute weevils on them that look like insect droppings. Like most weevils they play dead and have special grooves in their external skeletons so that they can fold their limbs and snouts away. I've included a 'dead' pic to extras. I photographed a figwort weevil on 7th June 2014. It was black and white. The very similar weevil above left doesn't have a common name, it's Cionus tuberculosus. The other weevil that I found on a thistle is much bigger with a shorter snout, it could be a common leaf weevil.
