Triffid?

The skunk cabbage blip the other day showed a clump of them – back again today for a close up.

They do remind me of the Triffids as visualised in the 1980s BBC TV adaptation of John Wyndham’s The Day Of The Triffids novel. Fortunately, these are neither seven feet tall nor capable of independently roaming the countryside!
