River of Flames

Went to work, worked, went back ... oh, wait a minute, drove north first to Lisse to check on the bulb fields there.  Not much yet in terms of tulips but quite a lot of grape hyacinths, daffodils, and narcissus.  Right next to the Keukenhof, however, some fields were in bloom.  The traffic was densely packed and it would have been a waste of time to park the car somewhere, walk to the fields, linger half an hour, then return to the car, so I simply took advantage of the traffic jam.  Traffic to the left of me, traffic to the right ... and there I was, stuck in the middle.  What to do?  Take out the camera and shoot from the hip right on the spot.  Of course there was no getting around the colour combination of neon yellow and neon orange, with some white on the side, so that is my shot for today.  These fields were 'encouraged' to bloom early for the tourist crush at the Keukenhof, and they gave it all they had.  Tomorrow, hopefully there will be new fields to explore closer to Brabant.

It took two hours to get back home ... in time for Death in Paradise, and some calculation of marks.
