Thirsty Work

I had time to take just one shot of this bee slurping up pond water before he flew off to carry on being busy.

He wasn’t alone in the insect world: I saw a couple of Peacock butterflies, a Large White & a Small Tortoishell, in just 10-15 minutes outside. The garden birds were all chattering noisily, including a very noisy wren, the tree buds were bursting open with fresh green growth and tonight, after Guides, I found a fairly young hedgehog in the driveway. He wasn’t in the least bit bothered by me and nor were the Tawny Owls who were hooting their hellos.

Temperatures soared to 26C today! Spring is springing rapidly all over the place trying to catch up with Summer who appears to have jumped the gun!
