A Day Worth Recording

By Cheeseminer

Mundi Morning

A day 'out' today combining a trip to Hereford to have a look round the city while the poppy display was there, with a trip to M&C in Bristol to look at some flats.  Not exactly a logical route but less mileage than doing the trips separately.

The poppy artwork was impressive but I can't help feel it would have been far more spectacular if they had put it where it would have seen it lit by the sun.  I've had to pull hard to get this looking reasonable.

While there, we took the opportunity to have a look at the Mappa Mundi - the world as viewed in 1290.  OK, so we smiled at the shapes of the countries and orientation of the map, and the curious illustrations, but it's seriously impressive given the date.

In the same exhibition area was the cathedral's 17th-Century Chained Library.  See extra.
