Common Enchantments

The new granddog!

While visiting my son for the day in North Carolina we got to meet the newest family member, a black German Shepherd pup, Owlsley Bear (don't ask me how they came up with that name...he usually gets called Lil" Bear) who is ten weeks old.   He is already half the size of my dog and judging by his feet he will be a big boy!    He loves following the dog on our walk.   We laughed as he stopped and just sat down a couple of times to catch his breath!!    All clumsy, big feet, baby dog teeth and cuddly.  I know he will be spoiled by my  grandgirls and my son!  But he already listens well and is almost housebroken..Friday morning he actually scratched at the door to go outside and we watched to see what he would do!   Yeah Puppy for doing a good job on letting us know you had to go!

The reason for our trip was to watch our oldest granddaughter perform in the school theater production of Cinderella, Rodgers and Hammerstein version!   She has several parts in the chorus of town people and the ladies at the princes ball..and she got to try on the glass slipper!!   It was a fun show and the kids did really well with their acting!

We also celebrated her birthday which was April 1 at a local Mexican restaurant before she had to go back to the school.   A photo of her "cake" and the sombrero the waiter brought her to wear while they serenaded her in Spanish and then with the traditional birthday song.
