Getting the sparkle back

Flowering red currant

I went to Blackford Pond this afternoon for the first time this spring and was delighted to see that the new swan pair are nesting: there was a fine nest, built up much higher than the previous pair built, with the female swan on top. There were no cygnets last year because the male swan was found dead on the island in March, and it took a while for this new pair to take up residence.

I have been photographing flowering red currant for a while now and I thought it was time it had a blip, particularly as I wasn't impressed by any of my bird photos.
