During a flight demonstration...

... at the National Centre for Birds of Prey at Duncombe Park Helmsley, I was practising photographing birds in flight.

I was only moderately successful at the task, but liked this shot which showed the enthusiastic demonstrator trying for eye-contact with the Eurasian Kestrel.

Probably my best attempt was of the Barn Owl in the extras.

It was good to have quiet close access to the birds to take some portraits, like the Bald Eagle in the extra (which proved much to fast for my skill when in flight).

We would have stayed for the second demo of the day had the weather not turned to heavy rain. It was forecast but the morning had been much better than anticipated.
