New leaves.

The horse chestnuts are in full leaf now, they are always one of the earliest. They come through fresh, green and unharmed from the blight that turns them brown towards the end of the summer. They look so unsightly then, but it obviously does them no harm.
A routine Sunday with a little half shoulder of lamb to roast. Doors and windows open, outdoor sounds coming in, and now I can smell a barbecue somewhere.
Son J is on his way to Monterrey, Mexico on business. He posts his progress on Facebook so that we know where he is. He has a transfer in Dallas and should be there soon. It is a long way to go for a business meeting, I hope it is worth it.
