Feyenoord

We attended a screening of the Feyenoord cup game tonight at Stadhuisplat in the centre of Rotterdam. There were 10,000 tickets sold, just for this alone. Considering the stadium for the actual game holds 50,000, that's some amount of football fans in the city.  They won the cup and the atmosphere in the city centre was fantastic. Car horns were tooting, fans were singing and flags were flying. I had been told these fans were a bit crazy but we experienced nothing but friendliness and cameraderie in the midst of the crowd, although it may have been different had the result gone the other way. Our journey home to The Hague on the tram was fun too. Time for bed.
