TPO - Totally Pointless Operation!

I went for a walk down to the Millennium Garden again this afternoon after a report that someone had broken three branches off a young tree. Very annoying! 

On the way I passed the area of TPO (Tree Preservation Order) woodland where the council has recently given permission to cut the trees and build a house. Initially permission was denied, but the applicant appealed and it was then granted. The person concerned went on Facebook to thank a friendly councillor for easing the passage of their appeal and allowing them to build their dream house, though realising that it was not a good idea then swiftly removed the post! 

The Planning Dept were unfortunately hoodwinked, as a neighbour tells me that the plot, now with planning permission, has apparently been put on the market!!
