Lalibela

These are monks, at a nighttime chanting ceremony, at one of the rock hewn churches in Lalibela. It was interesting to watch them. Tourists had gathered around on rock walls surrounding the courtyard. Drums and handheld metal shakers, called "sisterns" accompanied the chanting. We got too tired to stay and watch the ecclesiastical chanting, which was supposed to be the highlight.
