Starling at Sunset

Everywhere starling nests are chirping. Parent birds are continually flying back and forth from pasture to nesting trees. Several passed by as I was setting up the shot. I had only to wait for another. Because of the perspective and distortion of the telephoto lens the bird looks a lot higher and further away than it really is.

The blackbird didn't feed his chicks until evening. They spent the day hopping about the lawn, pecking experimentally at the ground and occasionally shouting to be fed.
