A STICKY BUD AND FEATHER

This tiny feather
     caught my eye -
          trapped on a sticky bud and
               unable to release itself
it just fluttered in the breeze
     and I wondered whether
          It would ever be free?

What holds you back
     and traps you so that
          you are not free
               to reach your true potential?

There can be 
     many "sticky buds"
          in our lives
that stop us 
     from being free
          and fulfilling 
               our purpose - 
childhood memories
     our marriage and family
          our fears and insecurities
large debts 
     our job or 
          our church -
so how much courage
     would it take
          for you 
               to extricate yourself
and be free?
