Needles

After breakfast we set off to Hartlebury Castle to see their museum.  There was a lot of work going on and because of this we were given tickets for a return visit.  We enjoyed their travel and transport display and saw some lovely Romany Caravans We met a delightful lady ho told us all about George III and Queen Charlotte with her 14in waist and 15 children and 13 survived.
We then went to the needle museum near Redditch Needle Museum.  It was fascinating and I never realised or though about how a needle is made.  There were gramophone needles, fishing  hooks, surgical needles - it was amazing.  Big ones - small ones .  We went there today primarily to see the water wheel in action but when we bought our ticket we were told they probably wouldn't run it today as it was so wet.  We enquired in the museum and no they weren't going to run it but said as we had come a long way they would.  It was amazing to see.  I have new respect or the humble needle now.  My collage includes the Romany Caravan, Fine work done with 48 count, Needled, smoking, Needle case cover and of course the water wheel.
After this we decided to head back to the hotel and chill.
It was an interesting day
My extra is a notice  of qualifcation required - somehow I don't think they could use some of the criteria today -  at the end they asked when it was  1879, 1919, 1949.  I got it wrong!!
