Blaise Hamlet

Back blipping - the last day of my recent trip across the water. This is one of the nine delightful cottages that make up Blaise Hamlet, built in 1811 by by  the far-sighted landlord, John Harford, for his tenants. It's now owned by the National Trust and rented out. Each cottage is different and each notable for ornate chimneys, interesting outdoor benches and general quirkiness. They were designed by John Nash. I fancied this one. Serpentine Lives handily close so we had a wander around after breakfast and before I had to go to the airport. Just look at that sky.  A lovely morning in Bristol but as we boarded the plane, the pilot rather breezily announced that there were passing showers and a moderate breeze in Cork. Blimey - the last 15 minutes (of the 55 minute flight) were a bit too lively for my liking and we wobbled in in gale force winds and accompanying downpours. Welcome home.
