RSD Photo's SoCal Life

Oaxaca Convent

I read an issue of National Geographic Traveler right before our trip to Oaxaca so I was primed for capturing images that portrayed “a sense of place” so often portrayed in that magazine. That was easy to accomplish in this beautiful city, especially with the inside scoop provided by part-time resident and full-time blipper Alaska (many thanks for the detailed recommendations). I ended the day with too many photographs, making it very difficult to choose just one. I selected this shot of the Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán because it is so emblematic of Oaxaca (in fact, there is a multi-colored, large-lettered sign spelling Oaxaca, which is perfect for for photo-ops, just out of sight on the right).
