Cheeky calf

A lovely morning out and about with IsleMum.First we went to Killearnan , it’s our Girl Guiding activity and training Centre. It’s a large old School set in lovely surroundings.
We could here lots of buzzing and spotted dozens of bees on the trees in front of the building. We looked at the daffodils that were planted by Brownies as part of the Centenery celebrations and at the Fairy garden made by one of the Rainbow Groups.
We drove down to Milton of Redcastle and sat in the car chatting waiting for a heavy shower to pass over. Again it was only an hour past high tide and the tide was already going out quickly. A group Shelducks we’re feeding on the waters edge.I thought I had glimpsed the tail of a red squirrel, the right colour and fluffy but it turned out to be the frayed end of an orange rope, so much for my wildlife observation skills lol.
Lots of trees are now down including a lot through the walled area but I think it will actually be an improvement giving the ‘big’ trees more space and helping the flowers below, unless there are other plans. One man was clearing the bank with a large rake, it will take him a while , it’s a large area.
Primroses were glistening in the sun , fungi was growing on a rotten log and blue and great tits flitted above our heads. We admired the flowers in the village , including a very nice Quince that was growing over an arbour.
A drove along the Beauly Firth bought us to a group of cows with beautiful, jumping calves. They came over to say hello and stuck their tongues out at us ;)
We went to Munro’s for lunch, lentil soup , bread, strawberrry tart, tea and shortbread for £7.95 so we thought that was a good price and all tasted delicious. We sat outside in the covered area of the garden and could hear that another heavy shower was passing over. We drove through hailstones on the way home !
