Ploughed

We went out mid morning to the rather delightful Bluebell Cottage Garden and Nursery.

From there we walked through the bluebell wood (they are coming out, and will peak in the next two weeks), then onwards through Dutton Park (managed by the Woodland Trust and the Cheshire Wildlife Trust) to the Weaver and did one of our usual "loops". Back to the Nursery for a cup of tea and some cake, and to buy a few plants.

Sue Beesley, who runs it, is preparing for RHS Malvern. Hope she does well.

Notwithstanding this ridiculous cold, I love this time of the year. Everything is so fresh, flowers are out, leaves are emerging, fields are ploughed or with early crops. And birds are singing. Saw my first cuckoo of the year, and heard plenty of warblers as we walked through the woods and along the riverbank.
