River of Flowers

Sunday: Church Island

Another beautiful sunny day with the chilly east wind.
MrD went off on his motorbike for the day.
I pottered in the garden all morning, started off some mange tout peas and emptied some pots, moved all the daffodil pots because they've finished flowering.
A lovely Nature Walk on Church Island with Nigel Brown. Saw a heron nesting on the island to right of photo. A seal popped up near the beach too, I didn't see it!! Saw some Sandwich Terns which have migrated here from the Gambia. Looked at Dark Swordgrass Moth which migrates from Africa and a native moth Hebrew Character Moth.
Extra photos of The Irish Yew, which has a very interesting story and the beautiful primroses which are even more numerous than last year.
