A Big Day Out

Left home at 07.45 to drive to Harrogate to a big furniture shop which claimed to have one of the biggest displays of swivel reclining armchairs in the UK. It had. Most were made in Germany but we found some made in England which we actually preferred.

Much debate about what to choose. Retired with catalogue to Royal Horticultural Society show gardens at Harlow Carr. Very well run and a great joy. Light lunch including the famous Betty’s Fat Rascal.

Back to furniture shop to make decisions. After much debate managed to do so. Two chairs for our old age. Mine has electric motors which bring up the footrest, recline the back but also lift you up to step out of it. Its for my birthday. It also has a charging USB plug for iPads etc.

Part way home stop and take a four mile walk round Fewston reservoir.
Finally call in at Arnside Chippy for supper to take home.

The main shot is Scilla peruviana in the RHS alpine house. The extra is one of the displays of tulips.
A very good day.
