An Artist's Life

Coming Home

I am happiest as I near the mountains that form the border of Montana. The dusty plains of Idaho give way to sparkling skies and snow-capped mountains hiding a pass that climbs through secret canyons and over the top.
We have 162% of normal snowpack in the Bitterroot and Sapphire Mountains and many low-lying areas in the valleys between are flooding . Quite a few neighborhoods in Missoula are flooded or under flood watch. Not a good time to be on the rivers; so fishing will be curtailed for a bit. I'll take the Haute Flasche out of storage this coming week. We have several camping days on the calendar!
