Lot's wife

A day of sunshine and showers - we've just been down to Baltimore for a brisk and breezy walk up to the beacon. The beacon, known locally as Lot's Wife,(who can remember their Bible stories??) was built after the Rebellion in the late 18C as part of a coastal warning sytem against Napolean's possible invasion. It's a fine and charismatic thing perched on the end of some dramatic cliffs. The bearded one is in pirate mode - appropriate for in the 17C Algerian pirates raided Baltimore and took off loads of the population as slaves! Worth biggifying. And that's Sherkin Island in the distance.

Off for supper at Annabel and klaus's later where spooky table tennis will be indulged in.
