North Westray

I must admit that today's weather hasn't been the best of the week. Still managed lots of fresh air but have stayed nearer the cottage. A visit to the Westray Heritage Centre this morning. The exhibition was about WW1. Thirty-eight men from the island lost their lives. Heartbreaking. The exhibits were very well done.

This afternoon a walk up at the north end of the island. I watched a good number of turnstones working away, turning stones. But they flew off when I took the camera out so here you have the view back over to Papay with a fish farm (salmon?) between. Even in the drizzle the light and colours are wonderful.

I walked over to Pierowall Fish to buy something for tonight and couldn't resist the extra.
