Sleeping it Off?

Came across this scene just after lunch in a local park.  I still wonder what the story was behind the scene.  A can of cider on the floor might suggest one possible reason.  Initially I thought it was a man and a woman, but as I walked past I had to re-appraise, unless that is (s)he was growing a beard!

Most everyone was just accepting of their presence on the bench and just walked past.
