What a Difference a Day Makes...Again!

This is a couple of days ago now, but we made a start on our garden re-design.  The first job we did was to remove some overgrown and woody shrubs from one side of the garden that were well past their best.  I have included the before photo as an extra.  We have regained about four feet of flower border and the amount of light it has let into the nearest bedroom and the conservatory is amazing.  It has also opened up the space so it seems a bigger area now.

The garden is going to end up looking worse before it looks better, as we have to remove many of the plants, paint the fences and widen borders and increase the lawn area, and then re-plant with new shrubs, flowers etc.  So, it will look very bare at some point but so many of the plants had been neglected before we moved here that they are past the point of saving.

B very kindly lent us her jet wash, so M is out in the sunshine, as I type this wearing his waterproof trekking sandals and getting wet feet whilst he cleans the paving slabs, which we will be re-arranging and re-laying in a new configuration.

Cleaning all the conservatory windows seemed a good idea a couple of weeks ago…once the jet washing is completed I think I’ll probably wished I hadn’t!
