Barbecue weather

I woke up at seven, early for me, and knew I wouldn't sleep any longer. The sun was already shining brightly.
I spent a couple of hours in the garden, repotting plants, planting out sweet peas and cornflowers and stuff.
Our daughter Jess is home for a day or two and early evening we grilled fish and vegetables on skewers over charcoal and sat in the last rays of the sun. As soon as it disappeared over the horizon it was pretty cool and so we lit a fire in the brazier and sat out talking and looking into the fire till we ran out of words.

These tulips have been flowering for almost a fortnight. They become more blowsy by the day. I happened to pass by just as they were glowing in the sun
