Dancing through the ages

Tonight I saw the final performance of Ultra Violet, a new community dance project, at the macrobert arts centre.

This was a stunning new piece of work by choreographer Natasha Gilmore part of the Luminate creative ageing festival taking place this month in Scotland.

I had been involved initially in this along with several others from our Keep Dancing class when we signed up for some taster sessions.

But only one member of our group, Anne Aiken, made it through to the final performance.

In the event it was a stunning show and we were all amazed how a group of non-dancers from 4 to 60 plus could perform such a complex dance routine in a matter of weeks.

I hear though that the training was very intensive.

This is a video clip I made from the final few moments of the performance .
