From India With Love

A holiday in Goa some 15 years ago alerted Ian and Moira Michie to the dire poverty of so many people in India.
Now retired they decided they could help by selling the beautiful hand made crafts made by the Indian women direct to people in Scotland. They are working with the Educators Trust India and two families they befriended over a decade ago.

Today they sell to all sorts of groups from women’s clubs and church groups to staff in big companies.

Says Ian:” We cut out the middleman. All the money we raise goes back direct to India.”

I came across them today at Stirling University where their stall is a regular Thursday feature in the Students Union and their colorful ethnic goods are popular with students.
