Before the Storm

The storm, in this case, is not only the blustery winds and rain we're having off and on, but also the hordes of children and teens seeking sugary treats on Halloween night. Our neighborhood of one short street and two cul-de-sacs is a safe place for little trick-or-treaters, and the first ring of the doorbell is imminent.

To protect the sprinkler system that he put in when we redid the front garden, Phil has arranged a "fence" of brightly-colored tape to encourage the revelers to stay on the path to our house and the sidewalk (UK pavement), rather than racing through the garden. We'll see if that works.

We've spent a good part of the day working out details for our renovated shower/toilet room -- it's a very small space, but a surprising number of decisions are required. Tomorrow I'll go look at tile options in person, having spent considerable time online today narrowing the choices, and we hope to finalize all the details soon.

And once again, I'm behind on comments...
