Eine Hornisse

"A hornet" in English and the stuff of nightmares for me.  

I have a fear/hatred of critters that buzz -I was stung on the eyelid as a very young kid and it is now inbuilt that I can't relax when I something buzzes around my head.

There's no point in telling me to relax - "if you ignore it, it'll ignore you" - it's too late.  I hear the buzz and the adrenalin pumps and that is poison for me.

This thing was nearly 3cm long.

Imagine the horror.
