Snapshots of my world

Tour de Yorkshire 2018.

What an absolutely beautiful day for Calderdale to host Stage 4, the final stage, of The Tour de Yorkshire. It really was the perfect weather for Yorkshire to look at it's very finest, showcasing the gorgeous scenery we are blessed with, and take for granted!

Dad and I went for a spin out on some of our favourite lanes above Ripponden before heading down towards Hebden Bridge and up over the climb to Oxenhope. Crowds were already lining the roadside and we found ourselves being cheered as we climbed upwards. I loved the sound of the cow bells chiming too!

The atmosphere at the top of Oxenhope was fantastic! The pros had become really strung out over the course of the climb with a trio leading the way followed by the peloton, and then lots of individuals struggling to keep up. I say struggling, they still go faster uphill than most of us go downhill!!!

Once the race had gone by we continued on our way in the ever shining sunshine.

A wonderful day! :-D
