On The Street Where I Live...

Had a wonderful day yesterday, my daughter’s best friend Gemma, had her second wedding celebration after getting married in Mexico last month.
Rebecca ( my daughter) baked oodles of cup cakes on Friday and today she did the balloons for the reception, about twenty sets of helium balloons for tables, walls, corners, you name it.
I was there to help her and believe me it’s not easy getting a couple of hundred balloons the same size and same height in different symmetrical arrangements.
Then it was a quick visit back home to get showered and changed and wait for Tim and Adele to arrive ( late as usual) so we could go together,
Mr P, who didn’t drink acted as taxi driver.
It was a pretty fabulous do, as all weddings are, great people, great food, great band and Rockin Rob our favourite local DJ of all time came out of retirement to do the honours.
He was DJ at Rebecca’s wedding fifteen years ago and l think l danced five hours solid that night but chose my dances more selectively this time.
l do have blisters on my feet this morning.
Apart from taking Adele to the station this afternoon ( Tim had to drive to Nottingham early this morning) have fluctuated between the garden and watching the final day of The Tour de Yorkshire on TV.
A few zzzzz’s on the sofa may also have been taken.
Mr P had been up at dawn to take Rebecca and Ruby to get the first train to London this morning for an audition and we are picking them up later tonight as they will just miss the connection home.
Mike , her husband and other two granddaughters are at a post wedding barbecue, felt like half of Glasgow were at the wedding and they certainly have the stamina to party on.
We declined the invitation.
Another sign of my aging years.
