Good times

Backblipped on 6 May.

We had a good time in Berlin - even Mr A.

Saturday consisted of lots of wandering, and lots of stops for food and drink. Early doors, we headed over to Tomasa Villa Kreuzberg, which was the only place we could find in the vicinity which was open for breakfast from 9am as opposed to 10am. It didn't disappoint. Afterwards we headed up "the" Kreuzberg - after which the area of the city is named. I must confess I don't think I've been up there before in my many visits to the city. Then on to the public transport system, where we travelled on a group ticket. J literally became our ticket, as she looked after our piece of paper. Everyone had to stay close to her. Onwards to Amerika Haus to view the Irving Penn exhibition which several people had raved about on Facebook. It didn't disappoint, but we each had different potential "take aways" - i.e. photographs we wanted to take home and put on the wall. Here we are in the C/O Berlin cafe discussing the issue over coffee and cake. From there we headed to Bellevue and then had an excellent wander along the banks of the Spree to Friedrichstrasse, before returning to the hotel for a mid afternoon snooze (some of us) and for B to go to a bike shop to purchase a T shirt. Later on we met first DA and then S and L at Belle Alliance, just over the road. It was great to catch up with them, and I think J and B enjoyed meeting some Berlin residents.

A very busy day, with lots of stops and quite a lot of excellent food.
