Pelican Take Off

Well, a long drive home today but home we are and boy am I happy!
The weather didn't cooperate for us to do some of the things we wanted to do. Rained quite a bit. We did however stop and drive through the Chandlier Tree. It is a giant redwood tree that you can drive through! Pretty cool. Just down the road is the one log house. Complete with it's own garbage can :) Stopped and snapped a shot of this cute old little red school house and stopped in a town called Eureka. Glenn wanted to go see the Carson Mansion which is a large victorian home that is "considered the most grand victorian home in America" and was once owned by a California lumber baron. It is now used as a private members only club and is not open to the public. Very grand!
Also in Eureka is a wonderful waterfront park where we sat and watched the pelicans and rest for a minute. To those that live here in Coos Bay/North Bend and know the tug boat that is on display on the Coos Bay boardwalk. It is the Koos 2, I believe. Well, I think I found the Koos 1 or maybe Koos 3...it is docked in Eureka!!! That was fun to see :o)
all in all a nice drive home from San Francisco, despite the rain.
And, again, so very happy to be here!
Now that I have good internet I'm wanting to get caught up with all of you :)

Happy Wednesday
