Cape Peninsula Tour

After staying the night at Atlantic Point backpackers we woke bright and early to go on the Baz Bus cape peninsula tour. I took this photo whilst waiting for the bus, the sunrise was brilliant.

After getting picked up by our very friendly driver, Roger, we headed to Hout Bay. Courtney and I had been there already but it was a lovely day so we just chilled out. After this, we went to see the penguin colony at Simon's Town. It was just like at Marwell except completely natural. Boardwalks take you all around the Boulder Beach to view the penguins.

Next up was the Cape Peninsula National Park. They dropped us off with some bikes and we had an awesome 2km cycle through the beautiful park with lunch prepared at the end.

Finally we arrived at the cape peninsula for a walk up the steps to a lighthouse that signifies the most south-westerly point in Africa. After a walk around the coast we got back in the bus back to Cape Town, stumbling across some baboons on the way. My first encounter with these pesky animals.

After getting picked up by Courtney's grandparents, we went out for a drink with Courtney's cousin, Danny, his girlfriend and a load of mates. We went to a couple of bars around Somerset west and I got fairly drunk. I was introduced to quite a strong drink called straw rum.
