Quod oculus meus videt

Sherbrook Valley Sunrise

A last sunrise in the UK for a little while.  We're about to head out the door to the airport and two flights taking us across the equator (a first for us) to the southern hemisphere.

I woke up with the dawn chorus (at 4:15 am) and popped out to Cannock Chase, hoping for some misty conditions.  As has been typical for the last few days not a cloud could be seen in the sky.  Sherbrook Valley runs north-south, so doesn't present the best angle to pick up the morning sun.  This was as the sun rose above the surrounding conifers, providing quite a weird light in the shaded valley.
